Gdańsk Tech (PG) Open Call #1
The DigiWind Gdańsk Tech Open Call #1 offers master’s students a unique opportunity to specialise in the digital transformation of wind and energy systems. Exactly 13 selected candidates will receive a EUR 5,000 merit-based scholarship to support their academic and living expenses. This scholarship provides the financial support needed to gain hands-on expertise in smart renewable energy engineering at one of Poland’s most prestigious technical universities.

Who Can Apply?
- Active Student Status
You must be actively enrolled as a regular student in the M.Sc. in Smart Renewable Energy Engineering programme at Gdańsk Tech during the 2025/26 academic year.
- Academic Milestone Requirements
Winter Semester Intakes: You are eligible to apply after completing your second semester of study. Your evaluation will be based on your Grade Point Average (GPA) from the second semester.
Summer Semester Intakes: You are eligible to apply after completing your first semester of study. Your evaluation will be based on your GPA from the first semester.
- Nationality & Residency
You must hold a valid passport from an EU/EEA country or a Digital Europe Programme (DEP) associated country (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine).
Programme Overview
The call targets students enrolled in the M.Sc. in Smart Renewable Energy Engineering (SREE) for the 2025/26 academic year. This innovative programme prepares modern engineers to manage complex renewable energy systems by integrating traditional engineering with advanced digital tools.
The SREE curriculum is flexibly structured across two eligible study paths:
3-Semester Track: Tailored for candidates with a strong related engineering background.
4-Semester Track: A broader path offering comprehensive foundation modules.
Core Curriculum Requirements
To satisfy DigiWind project requirements, the SREE programme embeds specific digital and practical pillars into its study paths. Students will cover:
Digital Pillars: Specialised modules in Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Big Data, Digital Twins & High-Performance Computing (HPC), and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Practical Application: Hands-on training using advanced simulations (including VR/XR turbine training).
Team Research Project: A collaborative project focusing on real-world energy sector challenges in partnership with European industry players.
Application Process
The DigiWind scholarship selection process at PG is structured, transparent, and strictly merit-based:
Eligibility Verification: An initial administrative screening confirms active enrolment, qualifying semester GPA transcripts, and nationality compliance.
Selection Committee Review: Eligible profiles are evaluated by an academic Selection Committee. Ranking is determined 100% by your official GPA from your qualifying semester. In the event of a tie, selection is resolved using the extra achievements documented in your optional Achievements Portfolio.
Rector Sign-Off: The Rector makes the final decision. Successful candidates receive their official notification on 16 November 2026 and must accept the offer in writing within 5 business days.

HOW TO APPLY
Step 1: Get Started on the F6S Platform
- Create your applicant profile on the F6S platform.
- Review the reference application form to familiarise yourself with the administrative questions. This document is for guidance only; your application must be completed directly on the F6S Platform.
- Optional: One live webinar will be held during the application period to provide guidance and answer questions. Details will be announced on the DigiWind website, social media and F6S Open Call page.
Step 2: Prepare Your Documentation
Gather and prepare all required supporting documents in PDF format. Ensure no printing restrictions are applied to your files.
Documents:
Your official university GPA transcript (Mandatory): Verifying the qualifying semester (Semester 2 GPA for winter intake; Semester 1 GPA for summer intake).
Academic Portfolio (Optional): A single PDF containing records of your additional achievements (research projects, scientific publications, conference papers, or student group memberships) to resolve potential ties.

Step 3: Complete and Submit Your Application
- Complete All Sections: Fill in all parts of the application form directly on the F6S platform.
- Upload Files: Ensure all mandatory documents listed are uploaded.
- Final Review: Thoroughly review your application before submission.
- Submit by deadline: Applications must be submitted no later than 15 October 2026 at 17:00 CET. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Evaluation Process:

Applications will be screened against the eligibility criteria. - Internal Evaluation
Applications that pass the eligibility check will undergo an internal evaluation, conducted by a specialized academic Selection Committee appointed directly by the Rector of Gdańsk Tech. This approach ensures a fair, impartial, and thorough assessment of each application.
The collective judgement of the panel ensures that selections are based on recognised academic standards, the strategic objectives of the DigiWind initiative, and the specific requirements outlined in this Open Call.
- Selection
Scholarships are merit-based and granted after an offer from DigiWind.
Evaluation Criteria:
The ranking list is generated under a clear mathematical and performance-based rule set:
Primary Metric (100%): The applicant’s Grade Point Average (GPA) from the most recent required semester of study at Gdańsk Tech.
In the case of identical GPA scores among multiple candidates, the ranking order within the tie will be determined based on additional achievements documented in the optional Academic or Scientific Achievements Portfolio (such as participation in research projects, publications, conference presentations, and scientific club activities).
Programme Enrolment
The scholarship is paid out as a single lump-sum payment from the University’s Scholarship Fund after the announcement of results and the completion of formal documentation. To receive the funding, a selected student must meet two strict conditions on the day of payment:
- Retain full and active student rights (active student status) within the M.Sc. in Smart Renewable Energy Engineering programme.
- Sign the formal scholarship agreement, which constitutes an official annex to the program rules.
Important notice on status maintenance
If a selected student resigns, withdraws from the master’s programme, or loses their active student status before the scholarship payment is executed, they fail to meet the mandatory payment conditions. In such cases, the scholarship will be revoked and reallocated to the next eligible candidate on the ranking list.
