DigiWind DTU Open Call 2
Opportunity for up to 3 full tuition fee waivers worth €30,000 each for new M.Sc. students in DTU’s Wind Energy and Sustainable Energy programmes. This offer covers the entire two-year (120 ECTS) M.Sc. programme at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and is supported by the DigiWind Project.
Selected candidates will be based at DTU Risø and Lyngby Campus in Denmark, where they will have access to both in-person teaching and flexible digital learning opportunities, fostering a dynamic and comprehensive educational experience aligned with the digitalisation of wind and energy systems.

Who Can Apply?
- Nationality
Fee waivers are available exclusively to applicants who are citizens of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine. - Academic Background
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc. Eng.), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), or Bachelor of Natural Science (B.Sc.) from an internationally recognized university. - English Language
Competency Minimum IELTS Academic score of 6.5, TOEFL iBT score of 88, or Cambridge English C1 Advanced (CAE) / C2 Proficiency (CPE) with a minimum overall score of 180. - Application Process
Note To be eligible for the fee waiver, applicants must successfully complete two steps:- Apply to one of the target M.Sc. programmes through the official DTU admissions system (1 December 2025 – 15 January 2026)
- Submit the application for the DigiWind fee waiver on the F6S Platform (1 December 2025 – 1 March 2026).

HOW TO APPLY
Step 1: Get Started on the F6S Platform
- Create your applicant account on the F6S platform.
- Carefully read the entire Guidelines for Applicants document to fully understand the terms and conditions of this Open Call.
Familiarise yourself with the administrative questions by reviewing the Application Form. This document is for reference only; your application must be completed directly on the F6S platform.
Step 2: Prepare Your Documentation
- Gather and prepare all required supporting documents in PDF format. Ensure no printing restrictions are applied to your files.
- Once selected, you will sign:
- A Waiver offer letter, this letter grants a conditional full tuition fee waiver for your specified DTU MSc program, subject to academic performance, program completion within 22 months, adherence to curriculum, self-sufficiency for living costs, and participation in promotional activities for DU, requiring formal acceptance within five (5) business days deadline.
- A Declaration of Honour, the template for this document, declaring your acceptance of all Open Call conditions.
Step 3: Complete and Submit Your Application
- Complete all sections of the application form directly on the F6S platform.
- Upload all mandatory documents.
- Thoroughly review your entire application before final submission.
- Submit your application on the F6S platform by the official deadline.

Evaluation Criteria and Admission Process
Required Documents:
for all applicants
- Proof of DTU Master Application Submission. Acknowledgement, confirmation email, or screenshot showing that an application has already been submitted to one of the target DTU M.Sc. programmes.
- Curriculum Vitae
- Original or certified copy of Degree awards
- Transcript of results
- Personal Statement / Cover Letter (specifically for the DigiWind tuition fee waiver)
- Evidence of English language competency (IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, or Cambridge English exam results)
- Certified English versions of all documents
Evaluation Process:
- Eligibility Check
Applications will be screened against the eligibility criteria (Academic Background, Geographic Eligibility, English Language Competency, Application Submission and completeness, Required Documentation). Non-eligible proposals will receive a rejection letter. - Internal Evaluation
Eligible candidates will be evaluated by a panel of three Academics/Researchers at DTU Wind and Energy Systems. - Selection
Waivers are merit-based and granted after an offer of admission to DTU. The selection process for waivers runs in parallel with DTU’s admissions.
Evaluation Criteria:
Successful candidates must reach an evaluation threshold of 70%.
- 65%: Relevant qualification(s) (based on academic achievements at Bachelor’s level, university ranking, extracurricular research/publications, relevant work/teaching experience, awards).
- 25%: Positive mindset towards green-digital energy transition in Europe.
- 10%: Commitment to Diversity, Equality and Gender balance (voluntarily provided information on gender, age, socio-economic background will be positively considered).
Programme Enrolment
Waiver Acceptance and Enrolment
To secure your DigiWind tuition fee waiver, you must formally accept the offer by signing and returning the Waiver Offer Letter and the Declaration of Honour within five (5) business days of receiving the email from the DigiWind Open Call team.
Once accepted, you will be directly enrolled in your chosen M.Sc. programme (Wind Energy or Sustainable Energy) as your admission will already be confirmed. You will then gain access to the DTU student platform for essential guidelines on course registration, student accommodation, and orientation activities.
Conditions for Maintaining the Waiver
Your continued exemption from tuition fees is contingent upon meeting the following standards throughout your studies:
- Academic Performance: Maintaining a minimum GPA of 8.
- Programme Duration: Completing your Master’s degree within 22 months.
- Curriculum: Adhering to the specified course requirements for advanced digital skills (e.g., selecting the mandatory specialisation track for fee-waiver recipients).
- Ambassador Activities: Actively participating in student ambassador activities.
Note: If academic performance falls below requirements, DTU will provide remediation opportunities (e.g., re-examination attempts, academic support) before considering waiver discontinuation. Fee waiver termination would only occur as a last resort.
Visa Requirements
For non-EU/EEA applicants, a residence and work permit for students (ST1 form) is required for stays exceeding 90 days.
- DTU initiates the process once your enrolment is confirmed.
- DTU will provide you with a unique username and password to access the online residence permit application portal at New to Denmark, where your application will be processed.
- You will be guided through filling in your section and submitting all necessary documentation.
Health Insurance
All residents in Denmark, including international students enrolled in long-term programmes and registered with a Danish Civil Registration (CPR) number, have access to free public healthcare. Students are responsible for ensuring adequate health insurance coverage for the period prior to obtaining their CPR and for services not covered by Danish public health insurance.
