DigiWind DTU Open Call
Opportunity for 4 fee waivers of €30,000 each for MSc students in DTU’s Wind Energy and Sustainable Energy programs. This offer covers the entire 2-year (120 ECTS) MSc program and is supported by the DigiWind Project.
Selected candidates will be based at DTU Risø and Lyngby Campus in Denmark, where they will have access to both in-person teaching and flexible digital learning opportunities, fostering a dynamic and comprehensive educational experience.

Who Can Apply?
- Nationality
Passport holders from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine. - Academic Background
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng), Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), or Bachelor of Natural Science (BSc) from an internationally recognized university. - English Language Competency
Minimum IELTS Academic score of 6.5, TOEFL iBT score of 88, or Cambridge English C1 Advanced (CAE) / C2 Proficiency (CPE) with a minimum overall score of 180. - New Students Only
Intended only for new students applying for admission in the two DTU MSc programs. - Personal Statement
Must submit a separate personal statement for the DigiWind tuition fee waiver, emphasizing motivation for Digital Skills courses and academic achievements.

Step 2: Prepare Your Documentation
- Gather and prepare all required supporting documents in PDF format. Ensure no printing restrictions are applied to your files.
- Once selected, you will sign:
- A Waiver offer letter, this letter grants a conditional full tuition fee waiver for your specified DTU MSc program, subject to academic performance, program completion within 22 months, adherence to curriculum, self-sufficiency for living costs, and participation in promotional activities for DTU, requiring formal acceptance within five (5) business days deadline.
- A Declaration of Honour, the template for this document, declaring your acceptance of all Open Call conditions.
Step 3: Complete and Submit Your Application
- Complete all sections of the application form directly on the F6S platform.
- Upload all mandatory documents.
- Thoroughly review your entire application before final submission.
- Submit your application on the F6S platform by the official deadline.
Evaluation Criteria and Admission Process

- Evidence of English language competency (IELTS Academic, TOEFL iBT, or Cambridge English exam results)
- Personal Statement / Cover Letter (specifically for the DigiWind tuition fee waiver)
- Acknowledgement of received application to MSc in DTU Wind or Sustainable Energy programme (proof of application)
Evaluation Process:
- Eligibility Check
Applications will be screened against the eligibility criteria (Academic Background, Geographic Eligibility, English Language Competency, Application Submission and completeness, Required Documentation). Non-eligible proposals will receive a rejection letter. - Internal Evaluation
Eligible candidates will be evaluated by a panel of three Academics/Researchers at DTU Wind and Energy Systems. - Selection
Waivers are merit-based and granted after an offer of admission to DTU. The selection process for waivers runs in parallel with DTU’s admissions.
Evaluation Criteria:
Successful candidates must reach an evaluation threshold of 70%.
- 65%: Relevant qualification(s) (based on academic achievements at Bachelor’s level, university ranking, extracurricular research/publications, relevant work/teaching experience, awards).
- 25%: Positive mindset towards green-digital energy transition in Europe.
- 10%: Commitment to Diversity, Equality and Gender balance (voluntarily provided information on gender, age, socio-economic background will be positively considered).
Programme Enrolment
- Successful applicants must complete the academic registration process at DTU.
- The DTU Admissions team will mark the payment as completed for selected students.
- Students will receive notification about their fee being paid.
- Visa Requirements
DTU will initiate the visa process once the first tuition fee installment (covered by waiver) is received. Students will receive information and login details for the residence permit application portal.

DTU offers retention initiatives, newsletters, webinars, and an introduction week (January 26-30) for new students.
