DigiWind project partners, DTU Wind and Energy Systems and Cadpeople, recently represented the project at the WindEnergy Hamburg 2024 event. The team engaged with key industry players to discuss critical issues facing the future of the wind energy workforce.
The event served as a platform to address the growing need for a skilled workforce in the renewable energy sector. A primary focus of the DigiWind project is to develop innovative solutions for attracting new talent and upskilling professionals from conventional energy backgrounds.
“WindEnergy Hamburg was a perfect opportunity to talk to the industry about the challenge educating the future wind energy workforce,” said Jens Carsten Bach, BDM at Cadpeople. “To solve this challenge we will need to re-skill conventional energy professionals as well as attracting new talent to the energy sector.”
He further explained how the DigiWind project is tackling this challenge by “developing engaging and immersive learning utilizing technologies like Real-Time 3D models, customised learning universes and XR.” This approach aims to provide a more effective and engaging training experience for the next generation of wind energy professionals.
