Co-Creation Workshop at WindEurope Event

On March 20th, at the WindEurope Event in Bilbao, DigiWind hosted a co-creation workshop, inviting participants to actively contribute to the future of digital skills development within the wind industry. As a leading partner in digital transformation, DigiWind designed this session to foster collaboration, explore industry demands, and set the groundwork for future training initiatives.

The workshop was led by two partners from DTU Wind and Energy Systems, our Project Coordinator Tuhfe Göçmen, and Nikolay Dimitrov. Their extensive knowledge and experience provided a solid foundation for the session, ensuring meaningful and productive discussions. The workshop was structured into three interactive breakout sessions, each targeting specific aspects of digital skills development and industry engagement.

Focus 1: Identifying the Demand for Digital Skills

Participants began by outlining the advanced digital skills that are in the highest demand within their organizations. Key areas of focus included:

  • High Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Cybersecurity (CyberSec)
  • Other Emerging Technologies


Focus 2: Best Ways for DigiWind to Engage with Organizations

The second session focused on determining how DigiWind could best engage with participants’ organizations to foster effective communication and partnerships. Various methods of engagement were discussed, such as:

  • Interactive Communication
  • Formal Partnerships
  • One-way Communication
  • Direct Contribution


Focus 3: Collaborating with Training Providers

The final session addressed the types of training providers DigiWind should collaborate with to maximize impact on closing the skills gap for advanced digital skills. The options considered were:

  • Below Master Level Providers
  • Content & Infrastructure Providers
  • Commercial Training Providers
  • Other Providers


Attendees highlighted the importance of diverse and specialized training providers, particularly those offering content and infrastructure solutions tailored to the unique needs of the wind industry. This diverse approach ensures comprehensive and practical training that aligns with industry requirements.

Conclusion

The co-creation workshop at the WindEurope Event was a significant step towards understanding and addressing the digital skills needs of the wind industry. The collaborative efforts of participants and the expert guidance of Tuhfe Göçmen and Nikolay Dimitrov have set a solid foundation for future training programs.
